Jack of All Media Last updated: June 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Jack of All Media ("I," "me," or "my") collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit jackofallmedia.ca (the "site") or work with me as a client. I keep this in plain language on purpose — you shouldn't need a law degree to understand what happens to your information.

By using this site or engaging my services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who I am

Jack of All Media is a solo creative studio based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, providing web design, branding, graphic design, and content services. I am the only person who operates this business and handles your information.

For any privacy questions, contact me at de****@************ia.ca.

2. What information I collect

Information you give me directly. When you contact me, request a quote, subscribe to my newsletter, or become a client, I may collect:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Your business name and details about your project
  • Any information you choose to include in messages to me
  • For clients: billing details needed to invoice and accept payment

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, certain information is collected automatically through analytics and standard web technologies, which may include:

  • Your approximate location, browser type, and device information
  • Pages you visit, how you arrived, and how long you stay
  • Your IP address and similar technical data

3. How I use your information

I use the information I collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes
  • Deliver, manage, and invoice the services you've hired me for
  • Send my newsletter and occasional updates (only if you've opted in — see Section 5)
  • Understand how the site is used so I can improve it
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations

I do not use your information for any purpose unrelated to running this business.

4. Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly and to understand how visitors use it. Cookies are small files stored on your device that help with things like remembering preferences and measuring traffic.

I use [your analytics tool — e.g., Google Analytics] to collect anonymous, aggregated statistics about site usage. This helps me see which pages are useful and where the site can be improved.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when they're being used. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you disable them.

5. Email and consent (CASL)

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you're giving consent to receive occasional emails from me. In keeping with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL):

  • I only send marketing emails to people who have opted in.
  • Every email includes a clear way to unsubscribe.
  • If you unsubscribe, I'll stop sending marketing emails promptly.

I use [your email platform — e.g., Mailchimp] to manage subscriptions and send emails. I never sell or rent your email address to anyone.

6. How I share your information

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Full stop.

I do share information with a small number of trusted third-party service providers who help me run the business, and only as much as they need to do their job. These may include:

  • Website hosting: [Hostinger, Namecheap, Porkbun]
  • Email and newsletter: Gmail
  • Analytics: Google Analytics
  • Payments and invoicing: E-Transfer, Paypal

These providers have their own privacy policies and are expected to handle your information responsibly. I may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect my legal rights.

7. How long I keep your information

I keep your information only as long as I need it:

  • Inquiries that don't become projects: kept for a reasonable period, then deleted.
  • Client records: kept for the duration of our work together and afterward as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes (in Canada, financial records are generally kept for several years).
  • Newsletter subscriptions: kept until you unsubscribe.

8. How I protect your information

I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including using reputable service providers, secure connections (SSL), and sensible access controls. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data online is ever completely secure, and I can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you
  • Correct information that's inaccurate or incomplete
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to any legal obligations I have to retain it

To exercise any of these rights, email me at de****@************ia.ca and I'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Links to other sites

This site and my work may include links to third-party websites (for example, client sites or tools I recommend). I'm not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and I'd encourage you to read their privacy policies.

11. Children's privacy

This site and my services are intended for adults and for businesses. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as my business or the law changes. When I do, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected on this page, so it's worth checking back occasionally.
